1-Post-a-Day # 3

For today's 1-Post-a-Day I'll be talking about James Stewart, more commonly known as Jimmy Stewart. He's my #1 favorite Actor of all times! I LOVE him. I was sooooo born in the wrong time period! I should've been his wife!!

Juussst kidding. lol ok partly. No seriously I'm his #1 fan!!

I first saw dear Jimmy in the lovely It's a Wonderful Life movie. Ever since then, it was love at first site. He's magic, pure magic. He can make you cry, laugh, envy others, etc. A sign of a genuine actor/actress is when you befriend the character. That character becomes your character. No longer is he/she the director's treasure, but he/she is your treasure. You form a bond with the character. Maybe it's because you're going through what George Bailey went through. (i.e. Jimmy's character in It's a Wonderful Life.) Maybe it's because Jimmy has a sense of honesty that shows through his acting and leaves you wondering how he does it. Whatever it is, Jimmy is one heck of an actor.

He wasn't as handsome looking as Cary Grant, or Gregory Peck, but he was to some. He has these dreamy eyes in which his love and sympathy for his character shines through. Whenever he smiled it was almost as if someone turned on a light. When he got passionate, you could see it in his face, hear it in his voice, read it in his eyes. He makes you're very toes tingle with the same passion he is feeling. He was very tall, everyone knew that. He had a beautiful voice. It's pleasant tone drew one in, made one fall easily for its spell. Whenever a harsh word came from him, it was surprising. Why is this? I think because we all know James to be a laid back, easy going, sweet kind of guy. To me, he's more handsome then Grant ever was.

Yet...he still remains a mystery to me. It's his eyes. You can tell a lot about a person by looking in their eyes. Someone once said the eyes are the windows to the soul. I can't remember who it is that said it but whoever it was, they were a bloody right! There's something about Jimmy. What was it about him..he looked like a thoughtful fellow. I know! His eyes seem to speak of his patience. I wish I knew him personally.

I DO HAVE BRAGGING RIGHTS THOUGH!! My Great-Grandma Kitty (She'll be 84 this year =] ) went Christmas caroling when she was younger, and her and her friends knocked on Jimmy's door. He invited them in and had hot cocoa with them!! Also, my Aunt Olive sewed clothes for his sisters.

The Philedelphia Story is another awesome movie with James Stewart in it. It's actually James Stewart, Cary Grant, and Kathryn Hepburn! It's a romance comedy. Jimmy plays the role of a foolish young boy who thinks he's "in love" with this girl (Kathryn Hepburn). It's really funny.

The Thin Man is another good one with him in it. You'll be surprised at what part he plays in that movie!! I was so shocked I was yelling at the tv screen "WHAT! WHAT!? JIMMY!? WHAT..HOW..WOW..YOU WHAT!!? AHHH! I HAD NO IDEA..I DIDN'T THINK HE'D PLAY A ......" If I told you just exactly who he is it'd give it away.

Vertigo was a really good one too. It's a psychological thriller. He's older in that one and he still had it! I don't think he ever lost his touch.

He's most fameous for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. I haven't seen that one yet. I want to though!! I think he won an academy award for it..not sure though.

I saw this one most recently it's called, You Can't Take it with You it's a comedy. It was really funny. I enjoyed it a lot.

I wonder if he was as good a husband as all his movies make him to be. Shop Around the Corner is another lovely movie with him in it. It's pretty funny. They did a movie like it with Judy Garland only it's called In the Good Old Summertime. I guess it's suppose to be the musical version of Shop Around the Corner but there were hardly any songs in it.

Jimmy was a beautiful person, and a beautiful actor.

More post a days com'n!,

Lissie

P.S. Think I've got 'nuff pics of him? lol

  3. @Jules: HA HA HA. Um no Jimmy rocks, and he's much more awesome then Cary. 'sides Grant was just a run-away who became a juggler, who somehow got into the movie buisness.
