Ok we went to the dentist. Mind you I like to hold what I'm feeling inside. I wasn't nervous until I got there. Once I was seated in the dentist chair I started shaking. They numbed up the top left side of my gums with orogelle and gave me the shot. They waited to long because my numbness started going away so I could feel the whole shot but I sat very still..didn't want it to hurt worse hahaha. But, I only felt it ot a mild degree so it wasn't so bad.
Then they began doing whatever it is they had to do. Get the cavity out, and fill it. I had this big ol' bite thing in my mouth to keep my jaw "relaxed" and open. (Actually it did help some. Mind you my jaw's gonna be sore later on though....:( ) My dentist is really nice. I'm so sad they're Mormons!! I got to pray for them. Hand out some tracts next time :D Anyways, the top dentist (Dr. Jarum (not sure how you spell his name) was working on me. He's really, really nice. And his assistant was ok but she was rather rough. Come on!! It's my mouth..gotta be a bit more gentle. Yeah, she didn't try to be gentle at all. I was kind of...wondering what her deal was. That and she treated me like a child. "Bite bite bite, now tap tap tap, now grind side to side sweetie". I was like..."Ok..MOMMY". Anyways yeah. Dr. Jarum, on the other hand did not treat me like a "sweetie" thank goodness.
I kind of freak out about medicine and stuff. I don't like to take medicine unless I have to. So having my gums numbed and stuff I was kind of panicking. Like ahh they're giving me medicine. What if it makes me say funny stuff. (Course I was nervous when all of this was going in my head so I wasn't really thinking logically. Like uh duh Jor you can't talk with four hands in your mouth, a bite thingy, a cotton ball thingy, a thing so you don't bit your cheek thingy,....and all the tools. Ha!)
In the end, Jules, Jacob, and I were there for an hour and a half they got all of us done. Now Jules and I have to come back this Wednesday for the other side of cavities!! AHHHHH! Plus they have to put the sealing stuff on it. AHHH!! I want to be done!! At least next time I know what to expect.
Still can't feel my left side of my mouth. It's not as numb any more. But, if I run my finger on the outside of my cheek, can't feel it. It's actually rather cool. Except my left side feels all fat, and makes me think my mouth is all crooked. Hahaha.
Cheers,
Lissie

1-Post-a-Day #2
Hi Everyone!,
Here's day 2 on 1-Post-a-Day series! Hizziah! Um it's my new phrase...?
I wanted to tell you about the trip to the dentist because I haven't gone since I was like 9 years old or so..which is about 6 years ago. I got my teeth cleaned!! Yay!!
I guess I better start from the beginning...
Jamesyn and Jonah had their first dentist trip on Tuesday. Mom took me along too, thinking they'd do them 1 at a time. While one of them would be getting their teeth cleaned, I'd stay with the other in the waiting room ya know. They ended up doing them both at the same time. I forgot to bring my book so I was left with nothing to do but sit and freeze to death because they have their AC set to 60 degrees below zero!! (Hey, I'm not complaining. If it wasn't so expensive that's how our house would feel. Lol) I decided to text a friend. We had a very encouraging conversation. It was wonderful. Just as I was scolding myself for not bringing my book, (Resurrection by Leo Tolstoy. I highly reccomend it!) I said to myself (chuckling too), "Ahh, I see how it is Lord. I left my book for a reason, as it is with everything in life-for a reason. I have plenty of time just between you and me to pray about everything. You're saying to me "Spill your guts. Just spill them. It won't hurt anyone but yourself if you don't spill 'em."
What did I do? I spilled 'em. I spilled my guts..and let me tell you it felt good. I had a lot on my chest. A lot I was thinking about. Of course I talk to my parents and tell them everything, but my parents don't have the ability to give you that peace that passes all understanding. Sure, it worked for you when you 3 years old, after having a nightmare to go to your parents and let them take it all off your chest. When you're old enough to understand the concept "Trust and Obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to Trust and obey" (That's a hymn btw.) then you can't expect your parents to bring you the peace which our souls so crave, or the rest which our weary hearts need.
I prayed, and prayed, and prayed, and prayed...and prayed..and God listened, and listened, and listened, and...LISTENED. He gave me wisdom, peace, comfort, and understanding. I have gotten out of my habbit of praying without ceasing. I went through a spiritual downfall..and I've been awakened from my sinful slumber.
Do you remember being a little tyke, and memorizing Psalm 23? Well that verse "You restore my soul" is really being devoured in my life right now..it always has been but esp. right now.
That's the beginning. Now for the middle...
The middle is when I had my dentist appoinment it went great. I didn't pray through it like I should've but that's because the lady was chit-chatting it up with me..well trying to at least. You can't talk very well when your mouth is opened and all the tools are doing their job and stuff. Haha. I sort of zoned out throughout the whole thing. My wisdom teeth are coming in. See, when I say God's given me wisdom--I mean it! I have four wisdom teeth for proof if you like. I just gotta run down to the dentist and get those x-ray pics. Lol :D I'm not looking forward to having those pulled out. But, they say they're just coming in. I won't have to have them pulled out yet..they usually have 'em pulled (if they're in that is) at the ages of 16-19. So, I might have a while. HIZZAH! (Yes, I like saying that. If you're against it too bad.)
Our next appointment (Oh yeah Jules, and Jake had their's done too..) is on the 21st of September. The 23rd is my Mom and Dad's anniversary! They'll be married for 15 years!!! (My age!! Yay..I mean HIZZAH!) They're going to a cabin over the weekend of their anniversary. Cool huh!?
That's my post. I encourage you, if you haven't read your Bible in a while, if you haven't prayed in a couple of days-do so. Your soul is hungry. Remember "Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the Father." (Can't remember the verse..but it's in Matthew) My Dad always puts it this way. When was the last time you physically starved yourself? Maybe you didn't eat for a day. Maybe you skipped a meal. Most likely the answer to the question is "I don't know" or "never" Or "when I was last sick". We always take the time to feed our stomachs, but why do we neglect to feed our souls? After all internal organs will be sitting in our dead, decaying bodies in the grave, while our souls will either be with God, or they won't and they'll be in hell. Think about it...
Striving to serve Him,
Lissie
